Cataracts

Cataracts are a common eye condition characterized by the clouding of the lens, leading to vision impairment. While they primarily affect older adults, cataracts can develop at any age due to factors such as diabetes, smoking, prolonged sun exposure, certain medications, and eye injuries.

Symptoms often include blurred or cloudy vision, difficulty seeing at night, sensitivity to light, halos around lights, and faded colors. Diagnosis is made through a comprehensive eye exam that assesses vision and examines the lens. Although cataracts cannot be reversed, they can be effectively treated with surgery, which involves removing the cloudy lens and replacing it with an artificial intraocular lens.

This procedure is generally safe and has a high success rate, resulting in significant improvements in vision. At Style Optique, our doctors provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care for cataract patients.
